Cheap home security usually comes at a price. As a cheap security system, MyPropertyID has the competition beat. Not only will our strategy outlast the competition, it is always enabled—never needing to be turned on or off. And it will last for the life of the valuables it is used on.
Police Accepted
Are you going to argue with the Boy Scouts? We hope not. How about Law Enforcement Explorers? In each case, instruction books going back decades contain the steps for implementing Operation ID—the precursor to MyPropertyID. For 55 years, law enforcement agencies have been endorsing Operation ID. It’s a proven strategy that works to deter, arrest and convict criminals. MyPropertyID takes it to the next level
Alarm Systems
In many cities and towns, law enforcement agencies require citizens to get a permit to install alarm systems. These permits require citizens to take a class and pay a fee. Why?
According to Houston’s Harris County Sheriff, “Firefighters and Paramedics respond to thousands of false alarm calls every year. These unnecessary responses result in an enormous burden in resources and expense; which in turn reduces emergency unit availability to respond to real emergencies.”
Security Cameras
Security cameras are great for alerting you if there is activity on your property. You never know, law enforcement professionals might recognize the person in the video, leading to an arrest. The problem with security camera footage is that it does not hold up well in court. In other words, no conviction.
Home and Away
MyPropertyID needs no electricity or fragile electronics to function. It is a highly durable and robust strategy that works during power outages and severe storms. It protects your property when you are forced to evacuate or just going on vacation. Not only that, MyPropertyID works on the items you take with you, protecting them in the same way.
We live in a very low crime village so lots of our neighbours are very relaxed when it comes to home security. Its good to know what the options are though.
This sounds like a great home security system and as a mum of young children safety and security is super important!
Home security and being safe is at the top of my priority list especially with children in the house
It is so important to have good home security now more than ever…it is such a worry x
I honestly have never considered a home security as I guess we have always felt we have lived in safe areas, but I guess that kind of things leads to been unprepared.
We live in a low crime city. As such people tend to be very lax security wise. We have cameras, ring doorbell, and we lock up ALWAYS. Crazy that people around us leave cars unlocked overnight. Sometimes I simple habit saves you!
Home security is so important – I don’t know why people wouldn’t want to make their belongings and house as secure as possible.
We invested a good amount of money into our home security system as we wanted to feel secure x
This is good to know. In my country, not every home has CCTV security cameras (because it is quite expensive to purchase and maintain). We do have CCTVs but it belongs to the village and although it kinda gives us some peace of mind, I think it is not enough. I hope MyPropertyID would be available in other countries too.
I’ve honestly never thought about the ins and outs of security systems, we live in an apt building so our management company looks after everything. Will be sure to keep this in mind when we eventually buy a house!
I’m pretty sure that in my country CCTV is a strong evidence for court, police often request camera footage from people’s homes when they are searching for criminals. It’s amazing that in your country it’s not considered evidence in court.
Please do a web search for “does cctv lead to convictions.” There is a very important distinction that needs to be made. The police want to look at CCTV to be able to identify and trace a criminal. CCTV definitely has value in leading to an arrest. When the authorities get into a court of law, there must be other evidence to convict because CCTV is not enough. That is the reason police departments worldwide want citizens to mark property, record serial numbers and post warning signs. Here in the U.S. and Canada, it’s called Operation ID. In Britain, it’s called proxy marking. MyPropertyID is the global state of the art, but you can also do what’s recommended in this Greater Manchester Police video too. https://youtu.be/LeWNjiNQkDI
Crime in my city is going up, so home security is an important thing. This sounds like a good option.
So important to ensure our home is safe especially when we are away on holiday. MyPropertyID sounds like a great home security option
This sounds like a rather promising system – especially compared to the alternatives.
I believe that you get what you pay for. When it comes to the safety of my family, we shouldn’t look for cheap home security.
I didn’t know about CCTV footage not always holding up in court. You’d think it offered some real protection.
It’s great to know there are alternatives out there x
